The Arena mutator is a mutator present in every Tournament and Championship game.

Overview Edit

This mutator replaces the game's weapons and ammo with a specific one. The versions involving the melee weapons also remove the weapons and items from the map.

The Instagib mutator can be considered an arena mutator as well, in a closer line with the Melee mutators.

Unreal Tournament Edit

The Arena mutator as per se doesn't exist here. Instead, six different mutators allow the players to play with specific weapons. These are:

There are two extra Arena mutators in the game's code, which aren't available without modifying the file Botpack.int

Chaos UT Edit

The GOTY Edition version adds Sword Arena, which removes every weapon and pickup from the map and gives the players the Bastard Sword. The mutator is replaced in v1.1 with Arena Mutator.

Unreal Championship, Unreal Tournament 2003 and Unreal Tournament 2004 Edit

This time, Epic decided to get rid of the above, and put all the Arena mutators into a single, configurable mutator.

There's a mutator in 2004, Vehicle Arena, which replaces every vehicle in the map with a specific vehicle.

Configurable options Edit

Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict Edit

Aside of Instagib, the game features the "Melee only" and "Character weapons only" mutators, where every character can only fight with their character-specific melee and ranged weapons.

Unreal Tournament 3 Edit

This mutator is present again, but under a different name, Weapon Replacement.
