CTF-Hydro16 (whose full name is Hydro Bases) is a map appearing in Unreal Tournament.

Map description Edit

A map set in an hidroelectrical dam with dangerous water. The dam is divided in two bases, each with a sniper house, and the division is done by way of a virus-infected water; both bases are connected by way of two bridges.

The map has the following named areas:

  • Red/Blue Flag Room: The Flag bases themselves.
  • Red/Blue Pillar Passage: The western (Red)/eastern (Blue) entrance to the base, comprehends the Shock Rifle area, and the Flak Cannon area (the 8-shaped area).
  • Red/Blue Boiler Room: The eastern (Red)/western (Blue) entrance to the base, the 5-shaped area.
  • Red/Blue Courtyard: The outer area of the bases. Also comprehends the Sniper Nest.
  • Bridges: The central area, the bridges.

Walkthrough Edit

"This enormous hydroelectric plant used to power the colonies on Vesuvius 9 until a mysterious virus killed everyone off. Now that a few years have passed, Liandri Mining Corporation have declared the plant safe for combat (safe is relative to Liandri officials)."

This match is only available in the Game of the Year ladder, and by installing Bonus Pack 1 in the Retail version.

Tips and tricks Edit

  • Use the Translocator to reach the Shield Belt.
  • This map requires your team to support the attackers so they can reach the flag and escape with it. Enemy fire will abound.
  • There's no need to go through the Shock Rifle area if you're attacking. You can take a shortcut by translocating through the middle of the courtyard through an air vent. If you're lucky, you can also deny the enemy team of the Body Armor.
