PC (Retail/GOTY)[]
"A textbook Liandri ore processing facility located at Earth’s Mohorovicic discontinuity roughly below Mexico. Phased ion shields hold back the intense heat and pressure characteristics of deep lithosphere mining."
– Mission description
Barktooth's Unreal Tournament character card | |
---|---|
"Barktooth is a madman. Screaming with berserk rage, he would rather rip an opponent to shreds with his bare hands than fight from afar. When forced to use a gun, he favors the Flak Cannon's close range stopping power." | |
Botanika's Unreal Tournament character card | |
---|---|
"Rather than face execution at the hands of the Mars Prison Tribunal, Botanika chose to fight in the Tournament. With more than 11 brutal murders to his name, Botanika should have no problem adapting to arena combat." | |
Deslok's Unreal Tournament character card | |
---|---|
"Deslok is the clan mate of Drimacus. Although weaker than his warrior-brother, Deslok is a competent fighter and will prove a worthy opponent." | |
Dovienya's Unreal Tournament character card | |
---|---|
"Born on board the IWV Battlecruiser Ciran-Vega and nursed on the scorched plains of the embattled Skaarj planet of Skrath, Dovienya is a highly experienced warrior. She knows the Tournament arenas better than her peers and learns quickly on the battlefield." | |
Rhea's Unreal Tournament character card | |
---|---|
"An ex-NEG field commander and energy weapons specialist, Rhea knows combat. She favors the Shock Rifle's accuracy, but is well trained with all modern weapons." | |
Playstation 2[]
"A textbook Liandri ore prcessing facility located at Earth's Mohorovic discontinuity roughly below Mexico. Phased ion shields hold back the intense heat and pressure characteristic of deep lithosphere mining."

Dreamcast[]
Tips and tricks[]
- The giant hall leaves little chance to deliver effective splash damage, as there is plenty of room to dodge and seek cover.
- Various areas are provided for stealth attack, such as the ledge containing the Sniper Rifle.
- Learn where the Shield Belt is and travel that route often.[1]
- When on the high catwalks, stay away from the walls.[1]
- In the center room, nearly every player will likely have a Rocket Launcher. If you're standing close to a wall, you're opening yourself up for significant splash damage.[1]
- Grab the Redeemer as often as possible and use it in the center room while unsuspecting opponents battle each other.[1]
- Dodge jumps allow players to travel through inclined ledges up to higher levels. The central core itself and the Minigun room are good places to practice this.
Trivia[]
- The PC version uses "Razorback" as background music, while the Dreamcast version uses "Organic."
- The map has a hidden Level Entry Text: "Welcome to the Core".
- The original map was completely different, with an external hazard area. It even contained a different level entry text ("Liandri Mining Company: Central Core Mine"), a different background song (Save Me), and a different player count (6-8). This version of the map was scrapped and was replaced with the final retail version.
- A variant of the map is featured as a walk-through tutorial for UnrealEd on the UT2004 Special Edition Bonus DVD, letting viewers create their own versions of DM-Liandri as an introductory course.
