As a BloodRites map, this match can be played either as an Instagib match or all-weapons match.
Tips and tricks[]
- In UT2003 you can boost-dodge + double jump your way right up to the Link Gun/Shield Pack via the pillars. For a visual aid, see the image on the right.
- The easiest way to reach the Super Shield is via the ledge coming from the Rocket Launcher room. Approach the ledge in a 45° angle and dodge sidewards while holding the forward key.
Trivia[]
- This is one of the maps that shipped with the UT2003 demo, the other being BR-Anubis, CTF-Citadel and DM-Antalus. A later version also added CTF-Orbital2.
- Asbestos is the map where every Deathmatch tutorial takes place.
- Until the stats for the game were shut down, the map held the distinction of being the 38th. most played UT2004 map of all-time, with nearly 70.500 matches.[1]
Easter Egg[]
- CliffyB's picture is hidden in a wall near the Shock Rifle. To see it, you need to hit the ceiling above the health pack or adrenaline pills in the room with the Lightning Gun four times with weapon fire (if done correctly you should see "Ownage!" in the message log), then go to the Shock Rifle and look up.
