Map description[]

This map features an all-out escape scenario. The attacking team must destroy the security facilities of the rook, and escape in one piece.

The attackers start in two separated garrisons, which are connected to both the castle's main watchtowers and the garrison connecting area. The room next to it connects, by way of a door, the central attacking area with the outer courtyard, and, by way of a square passage, the library, which is, at the same time, connected to the grate room. The outer area has a point of interest in the door control tower near the tumbleweeds. Finally, there's the valley, at the other side of the main castle door.

Tips and tricks[]

Offense[]

  • At least one player should make no effort to gather weapons inside the starting rooms, but should go for the switch out in the courtyard. Failing that, some attackers may wish to get the sniper rifle from one of the two towers (accessed via a teleporter) and help distract the defenders who are likely swarming around in the courtyard below.[1]
  • Once the library door is open, it is not necessary for the attackers to enter the courtyard. The library is accessible through a newly opened passageway. However, one attacker may elect to hide in the courtyard behind the hay bales. Once his comrades have sprung the door loose, he can trip the switch and be off, probably before the defenders can react.[1]
  • If the attackers must fight their way out, they are likely to encounter heavy sniper fire. Pausing to collect the sniper rifle from the tall tower is a good idea, in this event.[1]

Defense[]

  • As a defender, you can try to fill the first and third objectives with the Biosludge. Flooding the main doors with the same while opening also works. If you can get a Minigun from the mess, much better.
  • Once the attackers have accessed the library, it is crucial to defend the chained-up machinery. Staying down on the ground level is wisest, as the attackers are forced to maneuver up a narrow hallway.[1]
  • Once the gatehouse is open, all defenders should run to the main gates. Several should attempt to secure the sniper rifle that lies behind the large rock on the way out. The others should freelance, creating as large a distraction as possible.[1]

Trivia[]

  • The retail version of the game features Iron Guard as the rival team.
  • The beta version of the map had underground cells as the starting spawn point of the attackers. There were also two objectives, destroying two pair of chains located in different rooms and then escape from the castle. It also lacked a lot of rooms.
